Following our first experimentation with data science and Python, we couldn't wait to start a new project related to a new topic of interest. As high school students stuck in quarantine, Netflix was crucial to survive our own boredom. For this reason, we wanted to analyze how Netflix and other streaming services (such as Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, and HBO Max) were affecting the average yearly box office gross of movie theaters around the United States. We began with basic data analysis of datasets obtained through Kaggle and a company called The Numbers, determined to see some brief relationships. Afterward, we continued to learn more about machine learning by creating another model to determine how box office gross would decrease in the next few years.
